Overview of our Cross-Cultural Internship Experiences
Dwell Global is actively looking to partner with the Holy Spirit as He moves in the hearts of believers and mobilizes us to reach the unreached in muslim majority nations through the avenue of Business for Transformation (B4T).
Our aim is to come alongside those who are curious about a life of overseas ministry or those who are looking to prepare to enter the field and expose, teach, and give space for discerning “who you are” and “how God may use you” in His work of reaching those who do not know the Gospel.
What do these experiences look like?
These experiences are all primarily observation based but vary in contents during the pre-field, on-field, and post-field phases, depending on each specific experience.
With the spiritual disciplines as a foundation in all of our programs, we want to come alongside participants by offering different teachings, readings, and trainings, combined with an immersion in cross-cultural living. Through these programs, we desire to create space for exposure, reflection and discernment on how God is leading.
During these experiences, participants can expect to be exposed to a variety of ministry expressions and strategies, with a primary focus on B4T. Our aim is to provide exposure to the different ways God is working in cross-cultural contexts.
Interns can expect to be provided with resources and tools to begin and continue to discover identity and unique calling — “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Why are these experiences valuable?
With God’s heart to reach those that do not know Him, we believe He raises up some of His followers to “go to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8) — or a nation different then their own home country, in order to make the Good News known.
Those who have this stirring in their hearts to join God in this unique work, may have passion and a sense of calling, but may need a fuller perspective of what this life entails.
In offering these different experiences, we hope to provide a path of exposure, reflection, discernment, and empowerment. Our aim is to cultivate a more realistic and whole perspective of overseas ministry, so that in where the Spirit leads participants to next, they can thrive.
Why a focus on B4T in these experiences?
There are many great organizations that offer similar preparatory work for those being lead into this calling, but here at Dwell Global we see a need to close the gap between training and effective and sustainable long-term work.
A gap of teaching, exposing, and giving consideration to business focused expression of ministry work; such as Business for Transformation (B4T) and Business as Mission (BAM).
In the Middle East and other unreached areas that have muslim majority nations, more traditional missionary means are becoming more difficult to engage and sustain due to a variety of reasons. We believe a door is opening for the method of these business oriented expressions of ministry in order to help lead to security, longevity and ultimately deep authentic relationships where the Gospel can take root.
The Heart and Focus of These Experiences
Immersive Learning
We help participates grow in their knowledge, add skills and learn about a variety of methods through immersive observation to help develop hand holds and offer different perspectives to aid them in their journey of developing cross cultural relationships.
Discernment & Spiritual Formation
We believe through helping participates better understand their unique gifting and calling in light of God’s wider purpose and plan, coupled with the spiritual disciplines, we get to come alongside what the Holy Spirit is already doing in His Body as He is stirs hearts in pursuit of all nations.
Whole Hearts & Holistic Engagement
Helping our participates grow in their understanding of some of the unique difficulties that can arise in cross-cultural living, how to navigate these challenges, and the value of approaching ministry overseas through the holistic means of B4T.
Thriving & Longevity
We aim for our participates to feel more confident and equipped not just in making disciples cross-culturally, but also in how to live a healthy, thriving, long lasting life overseas. As Christ as our Corner Stone, the spiritual disciplines as our foundation, below are our 5 core building blocks that help minimize avoidable reason for leaving the field prematurely, and continue to cultivate Christ in us as we share Christ with those around us.
